Fully Printed Corrugated Boxes in Illinois
Lumberjacks came to Peek Packaging looking for a team that could build and design a box to hold its wood designed for pizza ovens, fire pits, and grills. They wanted a bright and bold design that would help them stand out in a niche market. The weight of the wood required corrugated material which does not work well with polished graphics and vibrant colors. In this situation, a litho label is typically used to print the graphics onto, but it does not work for this customer.
Hot Box is produced in Illinois which means that the colder weather had to be taken into account when creating the packaging solution. It was decided to use a single face corrugated box instead. The difference is that a single face corrugated box has a 10 pt chipboard top sheet that is laminated to that structure. The way the board is pressed together allows for less of a chance of cracking than the litho laminated process would when facing colder temperatures.
The end result is a box that is strong enough to hold the wood while having vibrant artwork that pulls interest in from potential customers.
