These 4-pack boxes structurally seem incredibly simple, but there is actually some engineering and decision-making that goes into the design. Since the customer is going to be assembling and loading these boxes by hand, there are several design features that we add in order to reduce labor cost for the customer and add some value for the end user.
The first feature is the auto bottom. An auto bottom gets its name as the four bottom panels automatically lock together when pressure is applied to the sides of a flat box. This makes for a quick assembly.
These boxes also have a double-layered lid. The top of the box closes with two full layers of board and has two finger holes for carrying. The two layers help prevent any tearing when carrying the box by the holes. A catalog lock was put on the lid to avoid it coming undone when being carried by the finger holes. It also allows Kokomo Club to securely close the box without any use of tape, stickers, or glue.
The artwork utilized lively colors with scattered palm trees to portray the tropical vibe of these beverages. The use of four color process printing allowed for a wide range of colors to really bring out the uniqueness of each flavor.
